Turned into a song by Sarah McLachlan from a poem by an unknown author in 1912, the prayer is to St. Francis of Assisi who was said to always follow his heart, have an in depth knowledge of ecology, and could communicate with animals.

Its funny how sometimes you get a song on your iPod, or read something that you don’t think twice about, only to hit you with importance later on.
